The brief
A small hospitality setting called for a clear transition from the public entrance to more intimate guest rooms.
The constraint
Arrival, waiting and retreat had to share a limited floor area without feeling like a corridor of functions.
Spatial response
Light and material change gradually along the route. The first pause is deliberately useful: a place to settle before moving inward.
